  1. Oh Sharon, this is fantastic! The striking thing this painting brings to me is though you did not define the place, I recognized it immediately. For me this 'somewhere' is a small town on the Black sea where I spent many summers. The Southern nature mood is so well done, that I think many people will make their own connections to the places they love and remember.
    Thank you.

  2. Hello Elena! Thank you!! Yes! It is EXACTLY where you remember. And, where I remember...And whatever else it brings to anyone else. That's what I adore about visual language. I did not want to be specific with the title and limit it's horizon. And 'Untitled' just seemed too cold for the climate. Thank you. And say 'Hi' to Russ for me.

  3. Great! The title enriches the work. For me it´s south of France, somehow!

  5. Nice Sharon--it has a Gauguin vibe to it. Very lovely colors.

  6. speaking of dodgy comments.. I just managed to lose mine.. [but pretty sure it was me at fault]..

Was saying.. love your title.. allows the viewer to decide just where the perfect 'south of' is... and although the emphasis is on the foreground.. my eye wanders out to that distant land mass and the waters beyond.. and perhaps some place that is not in the view... love it!

It reminds me of Taormina... but now I have just read the above comments.. I'll have to go look up the Black Sea.. [gee my geography knowledge is slipping!! hehe]

Thanks for persevering with the comments over my way.. darn blogger hates me.. been happening for a while.. OK.. have a great weekend.. ciao xxx Julie

  7. Hello Julie, YES! Taormina - another wonderful Somewhere. Oh yeah! Thank you.
Blogger might hate you - but I love your work, so Not Too Worry, it's worth a few tries to leave a commment. Actually, I don't think Blogger has a heart, so it can't individually hate...I think it's taking an intellectual approach and giving us all a major lesson in existentialism.

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend. I see you've been to Paris! Tres Bien!
