  2. Hi Amy! Thank you. I'm really enjoying working on these. And it is so much about color.

I heard about your jaunt! No maps, no plans...my favorite way to travel! Glad to hear you had a lovely time. Sending hugs your way and hoping it's warmed up a little. 40 degree mornings are something I don't want to think about...for a long while. I can't seem to get enough of summer.

  4. Hi Eric! I've noticed that we do share a love for 'blues and ochers', no? Thank you! I'm happy to hear your comment about this series - more to come.

  5. I really like this one..it makes me think of all kinds of different things. I'd like to hear about your process on this and what this organic shape means to you.

  6. Hi Stephanie! Glad you like this one. Me, too! If you're asking about my process meaning what I used for the Mixed Media: it is part acrylic painting, part mono-print, part collage & ink. If you want to know what the organic shape is, it's a date palm blossom. What it actually means to me, the date palm blossom here, the marigold in the piece before this, and all that will come, is something deeply woven into the fabric of all these pieces as a series. They are a part of this series Raison d'etre, yet only a part of it. I do know what every part of this image means to me, and what every image in this series means to me, but I don't wish to explain that in words. That's why I'm a visual artist. The fact that you can say 'I really like this one..it makes me think of all kinds of different things.' delights me. Why would I wish to limit your enjoyment? Watch this series unfold.

Great timing with moon posts.. I think that's how I met you .. yes?

Love the detail in these moon paintings.. and the blue of course.. but unusual for me I'm having an orange crush at present... so love both...

  8. Hi Julie! Yeah, I know it WAS good timing!!! I guess it had something to do with that full Harvest Moon. Oui, mais bien sur - that's how we met! And now, your Moon over St.Germain des Pris just stole my heart. So good to have you back. What an adventure, you wise girl you. The photos you've posted are amazing. I will eagerly await more. You must be jet-lagged out of your mind!

And Thank You for your sweet comment! I'm smiling because I'm not crazy about orange on it's own, either. I adore it always when it's part of the magical orange shades used so often in India OR if it's partnered with blue. There is a reason it's blue's complement. Find the right shades of both colors and it can create amazing moods. Used to think I'd never have a good word to say about 'orange'!

  9. Julie, that should be: your 'Moon over St.Germain des Pres'. Sadly I'm not jet-lagged, just tired!
