Hi Carole! Thank you. Yes, the warmer, longer days are lovely, but the sweet scents of spring are blissful. All those amazing blossoms and flowers and colors, so welcome after winter. I have given up trying to pick favorites, they're all wonderful.
Lovely photos. I'm seeing a pattern of trees in the theme of your work. The middle photo with the trees scarred with initials is kind of bitter-sweet. You can definitely feel the longing for spring in this set.
Hi Stephanie! Thank you. Yes, I'm just starting to see that pattern, too. A bit of a surprise for me.
I agree with you, it used to really puzzle me to find beautiful trees covered with carved initials. On rural paths, town streets or city parks. Then I started to think about all kinds of graffiti left every where - from ancient times to today - from the caves at Lascaux, to any cities walls, and every art museum. It seems to be something so innately human, this need to leave a mark.
woods are always magical, but i adore them in spring, just before the explosion of green, that sweet lingering on the verge of rebirth, not quite there yet... the last photo is so lovely...
Hi Roxana! Thank You. Yes! I really wanted to walk through this Beech Forest before the leaves appeared. Early spring does have it's own special charms, which you described perfectly. I also love that quietness, broken by moments of bird songs that have been sorely missed since autumn.
And sends such sweet scents for us to swoon over.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, Sharon.
