Very nice Sharon--I like that cool blue-green contrasting with the brick red and burnt sienna. This one really makes me think of Matisse-joyful and free.
ReplyDeleteInteresting to work with Shakespeare as inspiration Sharon... I really have been inspired by literature quite frequently over the years.
ReplyDeleteand delighted you liked our Miss Olley! What a life!!!

Hi Stephanie! Thank you for the sweet thought.
ReplyDeleteHi Sophie! I'm often inspired by literature and it is a joy to work visually with it as a companion to creative seeking.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your Miss Margaret Olley! I'm wondering why she was all but ignored here. Sad way to find her, but so glad I did. Thank you for such a thoughtful post. She was a wonderful painter and will live on through her work. Her art friends spoke so dearly of her and her last two Masterpieces, knowing that SHE was a geniune Masterpiece all on her own!
Beautiful colors in this one yet the simplicity of the subject seems to speak for itself.
ReplyDeleteHugs
Hi Amy, again! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteSending hugs your way, too. Hope you are thoroughly enjoying this summer...We waited so long!
